Hundreds delayed by Manchester Airport computer glitch

Hundreds of passengers, many from Thomas Cook, have waited for several hours at Manchester Airport after a computer glitch.

A “technical failure” saw the check-in system at the airport temporarily crash, with staff forced to switch to a manual system.

Thomas Cook saw 12 flights delayed, with other airlines were also affected.

Delays stretched to approximately two hours.

However, passengers are being advised to turn up to the airport as normal.

Two flights at East Midlands Airport were also delayed.

Manchester Airport apologised and said: “Due to a technical issue this morning several airlines are having to check in passengers manually, which can take longer than normal.”
