Hilton Heathrow and Cyrus Todiwala to create hospitality stars

Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 announced it will offer food and beverage apprenticeships in conjunction with The Academy of Culinary Arts, The Academy of Food and Wine Service and West London University.  Six new apprentices will be recruited, consisting of four kitchen and two front-of-house positions providing significant training and career development opportunities as part of the new hotel opening.

Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 will be the only venue in the area to offer training with the prestigious Academy of Culinary Arts.  Successful applicants will have the chance to work under the guidance of renowned chef, Cyrus Todiwala, who will be running the hotel’s signature restaurant, Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen and the hotel’s Executive Chef, Paul Danabie who will be responsible for the hotel’s food and beverage operation.

Apprentices will learn their profession through a three year NVQ course that will result in an Academy of Culinary Arts Diploma Examination in Professional Cookery.  The course will be run by West London University, of which Cyrus Todiwala is Associate Professor.  The hotel will also be working with the Academy of Food and Wine Service to train front of house apprentices for the hotel.

With an expected opening date of 31 August 2011, recruitment has been a major focus; the hotel is committed to recruiting the best talent in the hospitality industry, with vacancies available across all areas of the hotel. Applicants who would like to work in this upscale and full service new hotel are invited to inquire about the positions available.

Caroline Lowe, director of human resources, said, “At Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 we are committed to discovering and training the best talent in hospitality and are delighted to be offering these exciting apprenticeship opportunities.  Investing in our Team Members is a key focus for us and we are currently recruiting the best possible team to work in our new upscale Hilton Hotel. We are thrilled to have both academies and West London University on board to work with us to create the hospitality stars of tomorrow.”
