Hilton and Hillcrest Resorts join hands to open new Conrad Hotel property in Thailand

Former Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop and Former Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban cut the ribbons to commemorate the official grand opening of the Conrad Koh Samui Resort and the Conrad Koh Samui Residences at the ceremony held at the resort along with several other guests of honour and officials from the two companies on Sunday afternoon.

“Having worked tirelessly for the last five years to bring this project to fruition, we are delighted to have partnered with Hillcrest Resorts (Samui) Co. Ltd. in what we believe will become the jewel in the crown of Thailand resorts. I specifically would like to thank the efforts of Hillcrest for their leadership and bold vision, without which, we would not be standing here in celebration of the opening of this amazing resort today,” said Martin Rinck, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.

Powered by a wonderful team of local hospitality professionals trained to offer service with a smile that Thailand has become renown for, the Conrad Koh Samui officially opened 1st September, 2011 and has been receiving a reputation of delivering excellent guest experiences that follow suit to the vision of the founder, Conrad Hilton, to “fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality.”

“After a year of extensive planning and design, plus four years of construction and development, and thanks to the combined efforts of our partners and associations, today that vision has become a stunning reality,” said Lyon Lau, Executive Director of Hillcrest Resorts (Samui) Co. Ltd.

The event consisted of a vibrant cocktail reception on Saturday night complete with live music, traditional Thai entertainment, and displays that showcased both the resort’s features and selling points as well as the history and project completion of the monumental building project. Sunday’s itinerary consisted of a Gala lunch celebration and a ribbon cutting ceremony with several top VIPs from throughout Thailand and a host of media and journalists.
