Green Bay Packers took their fourth Super Bowl earlier with a 31-25 win over Pittsburgh at the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas.

Aaron Rodgers was the star of the show, throwing two touchdowns, with Nick Collins also returning an interception to build a virtually unassailable 18-point lead ahead of half-time.

No team has ever come back from more than ten points down to win the Super Bowl, but two Steeler touchdowns made it look as though history would be made.

Mike Wallace caught a 25-yard pass to bring Pittsburgh – themselves six time winners of the title - within three points, but the comeback was not to be.

Green Bay finally pulled away when Greg Jennings scored his second touchdown, making the team the second to have won the Super Bowl after entering the play-offs with the lowest seed in their conference.

Christina Aguilera

Outside of the game, Christina Aguilera also made headlines around the world when she forgot her lines during a performance of the Star-Spangled banner.

The 30-year-old popstar missed out the line “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?” during her rendition of the national anthem, instead repeating an earlier line.

She sang: “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.”

The slip did not escape the 103,219 fans inside the stadium, as well as millions watching around the world on television.
