This year, Great Northern Hotel is celebrating Christmas with an indulgent twist in collaboration with London’s most historic and well-loved department store, Fortnum & Mason.
Guests staying at the exquisitely designed hotel, in the heart of Kings Cross, will be treated to an abundance of festive delights including Fortnum & Mason personalised stockings.
The perfect spot to enjoy a cosy winter’s evening after a long day of Christmas shopping, Great Northern Hotel will welcome guests with a tartan-topped stocking adorned with their name.
Placed in the hotel’s deeply comfortable guestrooms, the stocking is filled with a host of indulgent treats from Fortnum & Mason, including pistachio and clotted cream biscuits, sea salted caramel truffles, and strawberry and champagne preserve.
Later that evening guests can make the short walk from their rooms to Plum + Spilt Milk where they will be greeted by a selection of sumptuous festive menus.
Executive chef Mark Sargeant champions high quality, seasonal produce and has included British classics with a modern twist on the festive menus, with dishes such as Crispy goose salad, chestnuts and sweet pickled cranberries; Roast Norfolk bronze turkey with chestnut stuffing, pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce; and Poached pear and salted caramel sponge with Christmas pudding ice cream.
After an opulent meal in Plum + Spilt Milk, guests can curl up in the GNH Bar with a warming winter cocktail.
Available to all guests staying at Great Northern Hotel are the pantries at the end of every guest corridor that brim with cakes, pastries, and other refreshments, perfect for a late night snack.
Over the festive period, guests can expect buttery mince pies, Christmas cake and spiced teas – making it a great place to refuel before experiencing the sights, sounds and lights of dynamic Kings Cross during the festive season.
