Global RoomCheck standard launched to improve room hygiene

Global hotel hygiene standards are set to improve with the launch of the RoomCheck Standard from hotel auditing company, Check Safety First. This first of its kind manual for hoteliers provides an international benchmark that enables consistent measurement and on-going monitoring of room cleaning operations. It’s free for all hoteliers globally.

The RoomCheck Standard helps hoteliers examine all areas of the hotel room and evaluate the housekeeping performance. Emergency procedures including norovirus outbreaks, bed bugs and food related risks such as E Coli are included for hoteliers to create secure audit protocols and enable corrective actions.

The Standard supports the RoomCheck module already provided by Check Safety First, which uses advanced forensic techniques to ensure that room hygiene risks are identified and acted upon. When a hotel consistently demonstrates a high level of room cleanliness, it is listed on www.Room-Check.com. Unlike other hotel review sites, it only includes independent scores from health and safety experts, helping potential guests make reliable choices.

Steve Tate, Chairman at Cristal International Standards, says, “With the rise in popularity and increasing impact of sites like Trip Advisor, hotels can be damned instantly through one bad guest experience. The RoomCheck Standard, combined with independent auditing to an internationally recognised level, means that complaints are reduced and room standards are kept consistently high.”
