Metro Transit and the Minnesota Timberwolves are teaming up to provide free rides on buses and light-rail trains to Target Center for basketball fans.
For every game in the 2012 season, Timberwolves fans can simply show a game-day ticket to Metro Transit bus drivers or Transit Police officers on light-rail trains for a free ride. The promotion begins two hours before each game starts and ends two hours after the last buzzer sounds. The free ride offer is not available on Northstar.
Target Center is an easy one-block walk from the Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue Hiawatha light-rail station. A number of bus routes with frequent service (including six in the Hi-Frequency network) serve the nearby Ramp B/5th Street Transit Center and as well as bus stops within just a few blocks of Target Center.
Fans can plan trips at metrotransit.org/Timberwolves and are encouraged to retain game tickets for the free ride home.
