Etihad builds Scottish sales team ahead of Edinburgh flight launch

Etihad Airways has expanded its sales presence in Scotland following the launch of its new route from Edinburgh to Abu Dhabi in June.

Justin Gosling has been appointed sales manager, Scotland along with Fiona McNicol as account manager, corporate sales working alongside Greig White, who has been appointed account manager, leisure sales.

Gosling, 49, has more than 25 years’ industry experience, and joins the airline from the management team of Etihad Airways partner Air Seychelles where he was general manager, Commercial.

He began his airline career with Lufthansa in 1988 and held roles in the UK, Canada and the US, including business sales manager UK & Ireland, where he was jointly responsible for the carrier’s Scottish sales team.

He also worked as director industry relations for HRG in Toronto and Jet Airways as general manager, before joining Etihad Airways in 2009 as country manager, Canada.

McNicol joins Etihad Airways from a commercial management role within Scotland’s largest retail shopping centre, The Saint Enoch in Glasgow.

A graduate of Strathclyde University, she has also held brand and commercial roles at leading electrical distributor Maxim and clothing firm MJM International.

Clive Wratten, Etihad Airways’ general manager UK, said: “2015 is an exciting year for Etihad Airways as we start our first flights from Scotland on the June 8th, linking Edinburgh with Abu Dhabi and more than 100 onward destinations across the globe.

“The appointment of such talented and experienced executives as Justin and Fiona to work alongside Greig, who has successfully steered our sales efforts in Scotland for several years, gives me great optimism that the new route will be a success.”

Etihad Airways commences services from Edinburgh on June 8th, 2015, with a daily, non-stop flight to Abu Dhabi, operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 22 Business Class and 240 Economy Class seats.
