Ethiopian Airlines to launch first Boeing Dreamliner

Ethiopian Airlines is pleased to be the first airline in Africa to offer service on Boeing’s all-new, technologically advanced, super-efficient 787 Dreamliner.

The 787 provides passengers an enhanced experience, including bigger windows and better views; higher humidity levels and new air filtration technologies for greater in-flight comfort; a quieter, smoother flight; and advanced lighting and people-friendly interior architecture designed to soothe.

These many upgraded amenities, along with Ethiopian Airlines’ top-notch service, help passengers arrive to their destinations comfortably and less fatigued.

Ethiopian Airlines was the first airline to bring jet services to Africa and will once again make history as they fly the 787 Dreamliner from Washington Dulles International Airport to Addis Ababa on Thursday, August 16th, 2012.

With a few seats still available on this first flight, travellers are encouraged to book their seats now to become a part of history.

For travellers unable to make the inaugural flight on the 787, regularly scheduled, non-stop flights from Dulles to Addis will commence in fall 2012.

“We are beyond delighted to introduce the new 787 Dreamliner for travel from the US to Africa,” said Kagnew Asfaw, director of sales & services for the Americas.

“Ethiopian Airlines was the first African carrier to order the 787 in early 2005 and we are excited to see our planning to fruition with the official launch this month.”

Travel to Africa is not only more convenient from the eastern U.S., with direct flights from Dulles to Addis Ababa, but also more comfortable with travel on the advanced 787 Dreamliner.
