ECOFRY recognised as ‘World’s Leading Small Sustainable Organisation’

ECOFRY, a provider of high-performance cooking oil solutions for hospitality venues, has been recognised with the title of ‘World’s Leading Small Sustainable Organisation 2025’ by voters at the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards.

Sustainability lies at the heart of ECOFRY’s business model. From the oil it provides to the way it gives that oil a second life, its mission is to create a circular system that benefits customers, farmers, and the environment. Its fresh cooking oil is grown and harvested locally, proudly supporting Australian farmers and strengthening rural communities. By sourcing close to home, the company ensures premium quality while reducing its carbon footprint.

The prize was revealed in front of hundreds of global leaders of sustainable tourism gathered in Dubai for the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards 2025. The VIP ceremony was held at Terra, Expo City Dubai and recognised the individuals and organisations that are accelerating change towards net positive tourism.

John McFadden, National Sales & Marketing Manager, ECOFRY, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as the World’s Leading Small Sustainable Organisation by the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards. This award is a testament to our commitment to innovation, circular economy principles, and supporting local communities. At ECOFRY, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from sourcing oil grown, harvested, and crushed in regional Australia, to transforming waste into renewable resources. We share this recognition with our dedicated partners and customers who believe in creating a cleaner, greener future for our industry”

Beyond supply, ECOFRY is committed to service excellence, delivering tailored solutions that make it easy for customers to operate more sustainably. Once the oil has served its purpose in the kitchen, it is upcycled into renewable energy sources, including aviation fuel and biodiesel, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels. This closed-loop approach reflects ECOFRY’s belief that sustainability is not just good business, it is a responsibility to people, communities, and the planet.

This achievement reflects an outstanding commitment to innovation, collaboration, and leadership in sustainable hospitality. At the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, we are proud to recognise organisations that are not only redefining excellence in guest experience but also demonstrating that responsible business practices and sustainability are essential to the future of our industry - a Net Positive Hospitality future.”

Justin Cooke, Executive Vice-President of the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards, said: “Our organisation is dedicated to celebrating the individuals and companies setting new standards in protecting our planet for future generations – and ECOFRY is a truly deserving winner. It’s a privilege to recognise the organisation’s achievements at our second annual Gala Ceremony, and I wish the team continued success in the years ahead.”
