easyJet boosts Barcelona route

Low cost carrier easyJet has announced that it is adding another daily flight to and from Barcelona, providing an extra 2,500 seats for business and leisure passengers each month and bringing the total flights on the route to six per day.

The airline was recently voted Europe’s Leading Low-cost Airline by the prestigious World Travel Awards.

The extra flights depart at 15:20hrs each day, and will provide even more choice for passengers seeking convenient and affordable access to the popular Spanish destination.

The new service will launch on Friday 6th Jan 2012 with prices starting from just £25.99 (one-way, including taxes) and seats are on sale now.

This means that easyJet will be operating 10 flights to and from Barcelona each day with four-times-daily services from Luton and Stansted, with prices again starting from £25.99 (one-way, including taxes).

This makes easyJet’s Flexi Fare even more attractive to business travellers flying between London and Barcelona. This allows passengers to change their flight up to two hours before departure, and make unlimited changes to their flight within a four week time window, one week before and up to three weeks after the original booked travel date.

Flexi Fare also provides passengers with automatic speedy boarding, no booking fees and a checked in hold bag included at no extra cost.
Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK Director, said: “Due to increased demand we are adding extra frequency on our popular Gatwick to Barcelona route, making it even more accessible for both business and leisure passengers in the region.

“The fact that we are Gatwick’s largest airline reflects easyJet’s commitment to providing travellers in the region with the best choice of destinations, at convenient times and at the lowest possible fares.”

Barcelona, Spain’s second largest city, is a cosmopolitan hotbed awash with some of the best restaurants, bars and clubs - making it the perfect destination for those who like their holidays to be full to the brim of sight-seeing and nights out!

easyJet now offers passengers the choice of 93 destinations from London Gatwick Airport. Ten new routes have been added by easyJet this year, including: Kefalonia, Amman, Catania, Fuerteventura, Seville, Izmir, Bologna, Verona, Zagreb and Aberdeen.
