DoubleTree by Hilton to add third property in Malaysia

Hilton Worldwide signed a management agreement with Daiman Landmark Hotel Sdn Bhd to open its third DoubleTree by Hilton property in Malaysia.

Scheduled to open around mid-2014, the 365-room DoubleTree by Hilton, Johor Bahru, Malaysia will be conveniently located along Jalan Ngee Heng, within the Central Business District (CBD) of Johor Bahru and adjacent to the border causeway crossing between Malaysia and Singapore.

Guests at DoubleTree by Hilton, Johor Bahru will be greeted with the characteristic qualities currently found at the brand’s more than 300 DoubleTree by Hilton locations in 24 countries around the world, including the warm welcome of the brand’s legendary chocolate chip cookie presented to every guest at check-in; an array of upscale amenities and guest services; the rewards of the Hilton HHonors® guest loyalty program; and a unique and caring team member commitment to the local community.

The 30-story DoubleTree by Hilton, Johor Bahru features 350 guest rooms and 15 service apartment units, and will have an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a deli café, a lounge and two bars. The hotel will also offer a business center, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a 400-square meter ballroom, three meeting rooms and car parking facilities.

Situated just across JB Sentral Train Station and the Immigration Checkpoint, DoubleTree by Hilton, Johor Bahru sits within the CBD of Johor Bahru, where numerous multi-national and domestic companies are located. The Johor Bahru International Convention Center and various municipal bureaus are within a kilometer away. Guests will also enjoy convenient access to attractions including Sultan Ibrahim Building, Chinese temples and Little India. The Senai International Airport is located 25 kilometers north of the hotel, which can also be easily accessed via Jalan Tun Abdul Razak or Jalan Abdul Rahman Andak.

Johor Bahru is the capital city of the State of Johor and located on the southern tip of Malaysia. The second largest urban area in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur, it is Southern Malaysia’s main industrial and commercial hub and home to major industries such as electronics, petrochemical refining and shipping. Being close to Singapore, Johor Bahru welcomes 49.9 percent of Malaysia’s 22.5 million foreign tourists via the Singapore causeway links and presents an economically viable alternative as a wedding/ MICE destination.

Hilton Worldwide currently manages five properties in Malaysia including Hilton Kuala Lumpur, DoubleTree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur, Hilton Petaling Jaya, Hilton Kuching and Batang Ai Longhouse Resort, Managed by Hilton, and will open the Hilton Garden Inn Puchong and DoubleTree by Hilton, Melaka in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
