Mr Humphries brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role having been with the firm for the past 22 years working in both the New Zealand and Australian hotel and commercial property markets. Over this time Mr Humphries has worked in the Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney offices.
Mr Humphries established Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels’ Auckland office and is highly regarded as New Zealand’s most successful hotel real estate specialist having worked on numerous international transactions campaigns such as the Hyatt Regency Auckland, Hotel SO Christchurch, Carlton/Rendezvous Auckland and Chateau on the Park Christchurch. He has a unique skills set – the ability to get a deal done which is under pinned by his strong technical and financial skills.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Humphries said, “I am looking forward to living and working in Brisbane once again. Queensland is Australia’s tourism growth state and I have no doubt that this will continue to be the case for years to come.”
“The Brisbane hotel market is a star performer at the moment. The latest STR data for the month of April 2011 shows it posting ADR growth of 11.5%. This is an outstanding result and makes Brisbane Australia’s second strongest hotel market in terms of average rate growth,” Mr Humphries added.

Mr Humphries will continue to oversee the New Zealand operations, having recently been exclusively appointed to market the InterContinental Hotel Wellington.
