Leading hospitality brand Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in partnership with Coco Palms Resort, is set to unveil the first-ever Kimpton property in Hawaii, Coco Palms, A Kimpton Resort. Scheduled to open its doors in 2026, this collaboration marks an exciting milestone for IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, promising a culturally rich experience amidst the lush landscapes of Kauai.

Located in the picturesque Wailua valley, Coco Palms Resort, under the ownership of Reef Capital Partners and operation by Highgate, will undergo a meticulous restoration to recapture its former glory. Once a favored destination of Hollywood luminaries like Elvis Presley and Rita Hayworth, the resort’s revival aims to blend historical charm with contemporary luxury.

The resort will feature 350 elegantly designed accommodations, including cottages, thoughtfully integrated within three low-rise hotel structures. Guests can look forward to a host of amenities tailored for relaxation and exploration, from a coconut grove for meditative strolls to rejuvenating spa treatments and a variety of dining options, including a rooftop bar and a restored shoreline restaurant.

Leanne Harwood, SVP, Managing Director for Luxury & Lifestyle Americas at IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about Coco Palms becoming a Kimpton flagship, highlighting the brand’s commitment to offering authentic experiences rooted in local culture and heritage.

Reef Capital Partners’ Chief Financial Officer, Jon Day, emphasized the significance of preserving Coco Palms’ legacy, stating that IHG shares their vision of honoring the site’s historical and cultural heritage.
