Flydubai and Citibank today announced a joint partnership that names Citibank as Flydubai’s first international banking partner and allows Citibank’s PremierMiles and Citi Life Credit Cardmembers direct access to Flydubai flights and services through the Citi Miles and CitiDollars loyalty program.

Citibank Cardmembers can now convert their Citi Miles and CitiDollars into Flydubai vouchers which can then be used to purchase Flydubai products and services on Flydubai.com and/or at Flydubai’s call centre.

Flydubai CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith said: “Flydubai is all about catering to our passenger’s needs. We aim to make the whole experience, from booking and paying for flights to reaching a destination on time, easier and partnerships such as this are part of that commitment to quality and convenient travel.”

Sanjoy Sen, Citibank’s Consumer Bank Head - Middle East, Pakistan and North Africa region, said: “Flydubai is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the global aviation industry and with its passenger numbers growing 200% in just two years, it’s obvious just how popular the brand has become.”

This agreement is another addition to Citibank’s growing loyalty programmes, which aim to give customers increased flexibility when redeeming points across a range of services, including travel plans.

Flydubai, Dubai’s first low cost airline and the world’s fastest growing start-up airline, recently announced new routes to Ufa and Kazan in Russia, expanding its global route network to 44 destinations across the GCC, Middle East, North Africa, Indian sub-continent, Asia and the fringes of Europe. Citibank has been present in the Middle East region for more than 50 years and is directly represented in UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.
