Change in DB Schenker Rail Management Board

Karsten Sachsenröder, Member of the Management Board European Sales at DB Schenker Rail, will be leaving the company at the end of 2011. The decision was made by mutual agreement. He will step down from his management responsibilities at DB Schenker Rail, the rail freight division of Deutsche Bahn, at short notice. Until a successor for his responsibilities within the Management Board DB Schenker Rail has been nominated, Axel Marschall will assume Sachsenröders duties. Today Marschall acts as CEO DB Schenker Rail Automotive GmbH.

„With Karsten Sachsenröder we lose a proven specialist and industry expert, who significantly promoted the establishment of our European sales approach. We would like to express our thanks to Karsten Sachsenröder for his dedication and his professionalism“, said Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Member of the Board of Management of DB Mobility Logistics AG responsible for Transportation and Logistics and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DB Schenker Rail GmbH.

Sachsenröder did join Deutsche Bahn in 2004 and had been responsible for various management functions within the rail freight division of DB Group. In 2008 Sachsenröder was appointed Member of the Management Board of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland responsible for Sales. Since 2009 he had been responsible for European Sales as Member of the Management Board DB Schenker Rail.
