Northwest Airlines Enhances Web Capabilities Including On-Line Booking For CyberSavers

Northwest Airlines continues to enhance the capabilities of its Web site by adding new features to provide convenient and efficient on-line booking and electronic ticketing, and great deals for travelers at www.nwa.com. Bargain hunters who have been using the Web to find inexpensive last minute CyberSavers fares can now book and purchase those on-line beginning with CyberSavers posted on Oct. 29. Previously CyberSavers deals were listed on the Web site, but customers had to call to book and buy.

“We believe that this on-line method for purchasing CyberSavers is the most convenient way to get great deals. Customers will really benefit from the ease of this Web feature,” said Al Lenza, vice president of distribution planning department for Northwest Airlines.

Northwest Airlines has also implemented features that expedite the WorldWeb Reservations product which include a streamlined sign-in and electronic ticket purchase process, and the addition of more car and hotel information to assist customers with their travel planning. The convenient on-line booking capabilities allow customers to view weekly specials like CyberSavers fares, check availability and flight schedules, and then purchase an E-ticket on line. CyberSavers fares are highly discounted weekly specials available for booking every Wednesday through Saturday for travel on the upcoming weekend.

The E-ticket (electronic ticket) option for customers has also been expanded to include purchases of an itinerary with multiple destinations. For example, a customer wishing to purchase tickets for flights from Los Angeles to Minneapolis/St. Paul, and then back to San Francisco will be able to use the E-ticket option.

Northwest’s on-line reservations now also accepts three additional credit cards. Customers were already able to use American Express, Visa and Mastercard to purchase tickets, and now Discover, Diners Club and Carte Blanche are accepted
Northwest’s convenient Web site offers customers several options to help make their travel planning as easy as possible, including promotional information, route maps and listings of all cities available through Northwest and partner airlines. WorldPerks members also have the ability to check their most recent mileage summary statement via the Web.
