Herve Imbert. New Sol Meliá Director Of Information Systems

Hervé Imbert has recently been appointed Director of Information Systems for the Spanish hotel management company Sol Meliá, replacing Miguel Payeras after his promotion to Director of the Company’s Asia-Pacific Division.


Hervé Imbert is a graduate of the Brittany National School of Telecommunications with a degree in telecommunications engineering, specialising in networks and telematics. He also graduated from the Paris VI and Paris XI Universities in Physics and Mathematics respectively.


The new Sol Meliá Director of Information Systems began his professional career in 1986 with Price Waterhouse. Four years later he assumed responsibility for the Ibermática Business Unit. From 1993 to 1995 he was Director of Systems for Open Bank, from where he joined European Alternative Consulting as Chief Executive Officer.


One of Sol Meliá‘s principal objectives is the globalisation of its information systems, making the maximum possible use of the latest computer and network technology. The Company also aims to ensure that all service departments, as well as all of the Company’s hotels all over the world, operate with standard computer systems.


Sol Meliá currently offers 224 hotels in 24 countries.
