Richard Hooper has become chairman of Jurys Doyle Hotel Group. Hooper, a board member since 1993 and a former director and chief executive of corporate finance at The Investment Bank of Ireland, replaces Walter Beatty, who retired as planned on 31 August.

The firm also announced trading in the first three months of its financial year, from 1 May, is ahead of the same period last year. But it said the outcome of its half-yearly results to October will depend on the two key trading months of September and October.
