Northwest Airlines announced today that customers purchasing tickets on-line via the Company’s web site at www.nwa.com or the Microsoft Expedia site can take a companion on their next trip for only $99.

“NWA.COM is receiving literally millions of hits per day and we were looking for a way to show our appreciation to our on-line customers,” said Al Lenza, Northwest vice president - distribution planning. “We hope they will take advantage of this great travel value and take along a friend.” The $99 companion fare offer is valid for on-line purchases through November 5, 1998. To take advantage of the offer, customers can go to the WorldWeb Reservations page and purchase Northwest tickets for travel. Upon purchase, customers will receive an email with a special promotional code to be used with the customer’s next purchase on Northwest to allow the purchase of a companion ticket for just $99.

Plus, as an added bonus, when a purchase is made on-line at www.nwa.com between now and October 15, each customer will receive 2,000 WorldPerks Bonus Miles. Customers who purchase on-line between Oct. 16 and Dec. 31 will earn 1,000 WorldPerks Bonus Miles. And, customers traveling on a Northwest E-Ticket can check in at a Northwest Electronic Service Center between now and December 31, 1998, and receive an additional 1,000 WorldPerks Bonus Miles
