New Appointment for Worldspan

Worldspan
today announced the appointment
of Kevin Ficco to the position of vice president - Airline Distribution and
Business Development within the company`s Worldwide Travel Supplier Services
division. 
In his new role, Ficco is responsible for developing business
strategies with Worldspan`s global airline customers designed to distribute
their products and expand their market share in the most efficient manner
using the Worldspan reservations system.  Ficco and his team will also
facilitate the development and implementation of Worldspan`s new pricing model
among the global airline community.
 
Ficco reports to Vela McClam-Mitchell, vice president and general manager
- Worldwide Travel Supplier Services.
  “In his 12-plus years at Worldspan, Kevin Ficco has consistently
demonstrated his ability to help customers build sales and improve their
operations through Worldspan technology.  Now he stands ready to extend that
winning formula to our airline partners around the world, providing the value-
added solutions airlines need to drive revenue and reduce distribution costs,”
commented McClam-Mitchell in announcing Ficco`s promotion.  “Moreover, with
his long experience in travel distribution, Kevin is well prepared to support
our e-commerce and travel agency partners by ensuring access to the full range
of airline products and services they need.”
 
Prior to his promotion, Ficco served as director - Corporate Initiatives
within Worldspan`s Worldwide Business Services and Strategic Planning group,
where he directed initiatives designed to add value across Worldspan`s three
lines of business by creating synergies, identifying and implementing cost-
saving measures, and streamlining processes.
 
Previously, Ficco was responsible for Worldspan`s World Ledger 4000 travel
agency accounting product.  He spearheaded the formation of an alliance with
Unisys Corporation to create enhanced accounting systems and to support World
Ledger 4000 customers.
 
Ficco also spent several years in Worldspan sales and marketing
activities, with leadership roles in agency sales and multi-national sales.
Before joining Worldspan in 1990, Ficco worked for Delta Air Lines, where he
managed a team responsible for processing the carrier`s reservations system
contracts and customer installations.
