SIA to Operate More Flights

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will mount additional capacity on several routes in the coming months, to cater to the traditionally higher demand for seats in November, December and January, especially over the Christmas and New Year period.
Most of the additional capacity will be on services to Australia and New Zealand.Ê From 28 October 2003 to 31 January 2004, 114 additional flights will be mounted.Ê In addition, larger aircraft will be used on 30 scheduled services during this period.Ê

The supplementary flights and use of larger aircraft on scheduled services will add over 36,000 seats to the 364,140 available on scheduled services to Australia and New Zealand.

Elsewhere, 17 additional flights will be mounted to Indonesia, six to the Netherlands, six to Japan, and four to Athens.


SIA is also planning to operate supplementary services to India at the year end and Kuala Lumpur and Penang in early 2004.Ê Details will be announced separately.

All supplementary flights are subject to government approval.
