FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines AAdvantage® members will find it easier than ever to buy miles for themselves - give or share miles with friends and family - through extended specials from three popular AAdvantage programs.

For a limited time, AAdvantage members can purchase up to 25,000 miles per calendar year through the buyAAmilessm and giftAAmilessm programs, and transfer up to 60,000 miles per calendar year through the shareAAmilessm program. The offer ends Jan. 31, 2004.

“Our customers have told us they like to purchase different amounts of miles to achieve an award level, to provide the perfect gift or share their miles with someone who loves to travel,” said Ed French, president - AAdvantage Marketing Programs. “These programs can help them reach their next AAdvantage award level faster.”

Miles can be purchased online for a member’s account or for a gift by accessing the AA.com Web site and selecting the “purchase miles” link, or going directly to buyaamiles.points.com, then selecting either the buyAAmiles or giftAAmiles section.

AAdvantage miles are sold through the buyAAmiles and giftAAmiles programs at the following rates:

* US 2.75 cents per mile, plus applicable taxes and fees for purchases up to 5,000 miles, and
* US 2.5 cents per mile, plus applicable taxes and fees for purchases between 6,000 and 25,000 miles.

Purchases can be made in 1,000-mile increments and are posted to the designated AAdvantage account within 72 hours. Each transaction incurs a US $25 processing fee.

Additionally, you can share your miles when accessing the AA.com Web site and selecting the “purchase miles” link, or going directly to buyaamiles.points.com, then selecting the shareAAmiles section.

AAdvantage miles are transferred in 1,000-mile increments at the following rates:

* US $50, plus applicable taxes and fees for transfers of between 1,000 and 5,000 miles.
* US $100, plus applicable taxes and fees for transfers of between 6,000 and 10,000 miles.
* US $150, plus applicable taxes and fees for transfers of between 11,000 and 15,000 miles.

An account may receive a maximum of 15,000 miles per calendar year, and may transfer out 15,000 miles per calendar year to up to four accounts, for a maximum of 60,000 miles. Miles are posted to the designated AAdvantage account within seven days. Each transaction incurs a US $25 processing fee.

The programs are powered by technology developed by Points International Ltd. In addition to these programs, AAdvantage members may also exchange frequent-flier miles and points from other loyalty programs for AAdvantage miles at www.points.com.
