Anniversary Of The Northwest WorldGateway

Northwest Airlines today celebrates its 1st year anniversary at the Northwest WorldGateway facility at Detroit. The world-class terminal was built to provide outstanding passenger service and to be the nation`s premier hub facility. By all accounts, it is making the grade with high marks.

Powers said Eetroit Metro Airport tied for second place in overall cus�omer Satisfaction and first hub airport in0the United States.$A separate report by TravelQuality*com ranKs Detroit Metro Airport as the best airport in North America and fourth in the world.
“These awards reflect our commitment to exceeding our customers` needs and making the travel experience easy for them,” said Dirk McMahon, senior vice president, customer service. “People do not like long lines or having to take shuttles and change terminals to make connections. Customers can check-in through the Internet or through nearly 100 E-Service Centers in the WorldGateway to limit lines. Also, the WorldGateway is one of the few airports in North America where international and domestic gates are located in the same facility. Everything we do here is focused on making the travel experiences as easy and as efficient as possible.”
The Northwest WorldGateway consists of a main terminal with 66 jet aircraft gates, connecting link, commuter concourse with 8 jet gates and 25 commuter aircraft gates, and an 11,000-space parking garage. The facility is approximately 2 million square feet and 1 mile in length and features:

The new Westin luxury hotel in the WorldGateway is now open. The hotel consists of 400 rooms and 28 meeting rooms.
