America West Announces an Introductory Fare Sale

America West Airlines
(NYSE: AWA) is revolutionizing air travel in Pittsburgh by bringing its new
everyday low fare structure to one of the highest priced travel markets in the
country. Additionally, to promote the launch of service to Pittsburgh on
Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, America West is offering special introductory fares.
America West`s fares do not require a Saturday night stay and offer business
fares up to 70 percent lower than other major national airlines.

America West offers connecting service between Pittsburgh and more than
50 destinations in the western U.S., Mexico and Canada. The airline also
offers friendly ticketing rules that include free standby for earlier flights
and retained value for unused tickets. Plus, America West brings an industry
leading on-time performance record to the Steel City.

“America West is breaking the hold that high fare airlines have had in
Pittsburgh for far too long,” said Scott Kirby, executive vice president,
sales and marketing. “We`re bringing Pittsburgh customers a new concept in
airline ticketing, low fares without extensive restrictions.”

From now through Oct. 29, 2002, customers can take advantage of specially
reduced fares, starting as low as $123 each way, based on a roundtrip
purchase, for travel from Nov. 5, 2002, through Feb. 12, 2003.
