United to Begin New Seasonal Service from Denver to Hawaii


DENVER, Aug. 12, 2002-United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) today announced that it will begin new seasonal Saturday service between the carrier`s second-largest hub at Denver and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii beginning Saturday, December 14 through April 27, 2003. United also announced that it will add weekend service between its hub at Los Angeles (LAX) and San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL), starting December 13 through February 9, 2003. The LAX-SAL service will be flown using Airbus 320 aircraft configured for two classes of service with United`s popular Economy Plus product. United currently flies between Los Angeles and San Salvador, Monday through Friday.


“The new flights between Denver and Kona nicely complement our existing weekend service between Denver and Honolulu and show our continued commitment to Denver and to the great state of Hawaii,” said Sean Donohue, United Airlines vice president - North America Sales. “We`re also very excited to be able to offer our customers in Los Angeles additional opportunities to visit friends and family in San Salvador over the holidays.”


“This Denver to Kona connection is a great addition,” said Hawaii Governor Ben Cayetano. “With Denver International Airport being one of the world`s busiest airports, this new route will offer convenient Big Island travel to a very wide audience of people. United recognizes the desirability of the Kona Coast, and is making it easier than ever for their customers to get there.”


United`s Denver-Kona flights will be operated in Boeing 757-200 aircraft seating 182 passengers in First Class and Economy Class. United also serves Kona from its hubs at San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Flight number 1957 will depart Denver on Saturday at 11:30 a.m and arrive in Kona on Saturday at 4:04 p.m. // Flight number 1958 will depart Kona on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. and arrive in Denver on Sunday at 7:15 a.m.

Los Angeles-San Salvador
Flight number 1963 will depart Los Angeles on Friday at 11:10 p.m and arrive in San Salvador on Saturday at 6:02 a.m. // Flight number 1964 will depart San Salvador on Saturday at 8:50 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday at 12:12 p.m.
