Amidst cheering crowds and celebrations, South African Airways` flight SA203 jetted off from Johannesburg International Airport at 16:15 to Lagos, Nigeria and then to New York. The codeshare flight signifies the launch of SAA`s newest partnership with Nigeria Airways Limited, connecting Lagos with New York for the first time in 8 years.
In terms of the airline networking, the partnership will enable SAA and Nigeria Airways to establish a strong hub in Lagos, offering the biggest travel opportunities in the sub-region by ultimately re-establishing direct services between Lagos and New York.

In addition to SAA`s daily flight schedule to New York, joint scheduled services operated by SAA`s Boeing 7470-300 aircraft with distinct branding of both airlines, will commence between Johannesburg, Lagos and New York.
All flights will be operated by South African Airways under the command of SAA flight deck crew. The joint on-board service is provided by a group of well-trained SAA and Nigerian Airways` cabin crew.
