America West Airlines, Inc. (NYSE: AWA)
announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that
the airline has successfully completed a previously announced audit of certain
maintenance records and record keeping procedures and that those records and
procedures are in compliance with FAA requirements.  As a result of this
process, the Airline has further enhanced its quality assurance programs
related to airworthiness directive compliance.  America West will continue to
work with the FAA to ensure that the Airline meets the highest standards of
regulatory compliance and maintains its industry leading safety record.
