America West Shareholders Elect Directors

Shareholders of America West Holdings
Corporation (NYSE: AWA) today elected 10 directors and rejected a proposal by
the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (Teamsters).  The actions were
taken at the Company`s annual meeting held in New York City today.
 
By a majority of at least 99 percent, the following directors were
elected:
