Spirit Airlines Promotes Patty Barrie


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 2, 2002) å- Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held carrier in the U.S., announces the promotion of Patricia å“Pattyå” Barrie to vice president of in-flight services to focus on Spiritå‘s solid industry and consumer rankings for 2002.
Barrie joined Spirit in January 2001 as associate corporate council and was then named director of in-flight services in September 2001. Prior to joining Spirit, she held positions with Eastern Airlines for 17 years including base administrator, in-flight supervisor and flight attendant. “Patty’s experience in aviation coupled with her legal background provides an invaluable skill set for her new leadership role with Spirit, ” said Jim Weiland, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “The success of our company comes from the strength of the employees and this promotion is well deserved,” said Weiland.


Barrie graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and more recently earned a juris doctoral degree from the University of Miami School of Law and graduated cum laude. About Spirit Airlines
