KDS, the European leader for business travel e-procurement solutions announced today that Galileo International, a leading provider of electronic global distribution services for the travel industry, has chosen KDS Solutions and Services for its new pan-European, multi-language corporate booking tool for the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) market, Galileo SpecialAgent(tm).
The new online booking solution, named Galileo SpecialAgent, integrates seamlessly into the existing business processes of a corporation and its sponsoring travel agency. It provides individual travelers with the ability to easily make their own travel reservations, while providing the corporation and sponsoring agency with the systems and tools needed to effectively manage and administer a travel process including company policy, preferences, and corporate travel budgets.
“This is a significant success for KDS as we continue to increase our presence in the corporate online booking market. We are delighted that Galileo commissioned KDS to build and deliver Galileo SpecialAgent. The ability for KDS to deliver a product such as this in record time proves that KDS has the manpower and technology to deliver to other worldwide customers like Galileo,” said Yves Weisselberger, CEO of KDS.
Galileo SpecialAgent is an advanced, Internet-based, travel-management solution that will be distributed by Galileo-powered travel agents in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for use by their corporate customers, who need to effectively manage numerous preferred travel supplier agreements and extensive corporate travel policies. It enables travel agents to reduce distribution costs, automate processes and propose efficient online services to corporate customers, who in turn will be able to reduce business travel costs.
Galileo SpecialAgent will initially be available in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, with other languages to be delivered in subsequent versions. The choice of language for Galileo SpecialAgent is set by user log-on, so multi-language capability is available within one corporation or travel agency site, if required.
“With efficient corporate and business travel management increasing in importance in today`s travel industry, Galileo has produced a truly pan-European product that further simplifies the electronic booking experience while integrating travel preferences and adaptability based on the needs of the customer or end user,” said Gordon Wilson, executive vice president and managing director for Galileo`s EMEA region.
