Thomas Cook TV Launches Channel On Sky Digital Platform.
Thomas Cook is to launch its own channel next month on the Sky Digital platform.
The announcement follows a deal with interactive television company Enteraction TV. Thomas Cook TV will broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a 40-strong Enteraction team providing the programming. Interactivity will be introduced to the channel in the new year. Thomas Cook TV will not rely on advertising, but will be financed by sales.
Thomas Cook already has a presence on Sky`s Active iTV platform but the company claims the standalone channel will be the first of its kind in Europe, branded under a high street name.
Enteraction was founded in January last year and runs the TV Job Shop recruitment channel on Sky Digital. It also provides production expertise for the bid-up TV auction channel.
