Travel website Airlines.ca launched For Canadian travellers

Airlines.ca is an easy-to-use travel website that focuses on answering the needs of Canadian travellers, both leisure and corporate.

The thousands of Canadian consumers using the Internet to search and book travel now have access to this great new tool called Airlines.ca!
“We want to provide consumers with a truly Canadian travel website, not only a copy of an American site” said Yoav Cohen, President and CEO of Airlines.ca. “We decided to create, in partnership with Amadeus, a totally bilingual and user-friendly travel reservation engine”. The young, Montreal-based, start-up company has a strong knowledge of the travel and Internet industries. It uses the latest travel technologies available in order to ensure the best service to its customers, both online and offline.

In addition to providing availability, pricing and booking for flights, hotels and cars, travel insurance, and useful travel tools in French and English, Airlines.ca offers its customers e-ticketing capabilities for more airlines than any other website.
Airlines.ca is also the first agency in Canada to offer advanced corporate solutions that will help companies of different sizes manage their travel needs and save on all their traveling expenses. Search and booking functions are also available directly from mobile devices, a first in the travel industry.
TELUS and Rogers AT&T have already signed a partnership with Airlines.ca to ad the service to their menu and to promote it to their members.
The company also has signed contracts with big other big players in the industry such as Branchez-vous and Vox-Tel. The founders and managers of Airlines.ca are very optimistic about the future because e-travel is, without a doubt, the leading and fastest growing online industry. Yoav Cohen adds “according to the PhoCusWright 2000 Travel E-Commerce Survey, more than 20 million consumers will purchase more than $20 billion in online travel in 2001. We strongly believe that, with our top-of-the-line technology and our excellent customer service, Canadians will discover their own travel site and feel comfortable purchasing on-line”.
Airlines.ca presently employs 20 people and plans to hire twenty more within the next year. Apart from its start-up costs, Airlines.ca plans to inject $ 5 millions in the Canadian economy over the next three years.
