Diethelm launches Diethelm Travel Singapore

Diethelm Travel Group (DTG) today announced the launch of Diethelm Travel Singapore. This new venture expands the Group to twelve countries; Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.Chief Executive Officer of DTG, John Watson, said “Our customers frequently ask us to operate in Singapore. It is an important crossroads for the world as well as a fine tourism destination in its’ own right. We thought long and hard about the launch of this business given the current economic slowdown globally but, having found the right partners in Uniglobal Holidays, we feel this is the right time to proceed with a strategic investment in this key market. We have worked with Uniglobal for many years and they have an excellent reputation for quality service delivery.”

DTG will hold majority ownership and management control in Diethelm Travel Singapore in partnership with Victor Yam, the current Managing Director of Uniglobal. Under the terms of the agreement Uniglobal will transfer their existing non-Russian inbound business into the new company. Uniglobal will continue to trade but focussed purely on the Russian and CIS markets.

Diethelm Travel Singapore will be launched on 1st July, 2009 and Eric Yap has been appointed as Managing Director of the new joint venture reporting to Richard Brouwer, COO, DTG.
