easyJet to offer pre-pay excess baggage

easyJet has introduced a facility to allow passengers to purchase extra weight allowance for their hold baggage in advance of their flight.

The new facility will allow passengers to pay their excess weight charges online, at a reduced rate, which will also allow for speedier check-in.

The extra weight will be available in denominations of 3kgs at £15 per 3kgs, a saving of £3 when compared to payment at the check-in desk on the day of travel.

Customers can pre-pay for excess baggage at the time of booking, either online or on the telephone. If a customer wishes to pre-pay for excess baggage after the booking has been made, initially, this amendment can only be done only via the contact centre.

Payment of excess charges at the airport will continue to be possible, but at the higher rate.
