Silverjet appoints new head of comms

Silverjet has announced the appointment of Anna Martin as its new permanent Head of Communications from 15th August 2007.  Reporting to Silverjet’s CEO Lawrence Hunt, Anna will be responsible for further developing and implementing the global external communications strategy to maximise awareness and exposure of the airline’s products, services and values across all media in addition to the management of all promotions, events and sponsorship opportunities.

Anna joins Silverjet with more than seven years experience at British Airways, where her most recent position was Commercial Communications Manager.  During her time at the airline she also held roles in marketing, sales and airport management and previously spent three years with Goldman Sachs.

Anna will replace Nicole Walsh who has left to go on maternity leave and will be assisted by PR Manager Jane Sinclair who joined Silverjet in June from Thomsonfly.  Anna will be responsible for the airline’s UK and US Public Relations agencies, working closely with them to develop communications programmes to support the next stages in the airline’s expansion.

Lawrence Hunt, Chief Executive of Silverjet said:

“We are delighted to announce Anna’s appointment.  Her experience from British Airways will be invaluable as we look to grow on the success of Silverjet’s first six months in service with a further four routes planned over the next three years.”
