China Southern enjoys bumper year

China Southern Airlines has successfully finished Year 2006
with safe flight operations combined with strong growth in fleet and passengers.With the secure landing at the ultra-modern Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport
of CZ 3484 from Chengdu at 23:22 on 31 December, China Southern Airlines
successfully accomplished its last flight in 2006, marking yet another year of safe
flight operations.

As the largest carrier in The People’s Republic of China (in terms of its fleet, air
network and passenger traffic), China Southern Airlines sustained a strong increases
in 2006.

During 2006, China Southern Airlines logged more than 920,000 safe flight hours and
49.21Million passengers carried which will - again - rank China Southern for its now
28th consecutive year - as China’s largest airline for number of passengers flown.

Also during Year 2006, China Southern Airlines introduced 64 new Airbus and Boeing
aircraft and now offers a fleet of 298 planes (including 100 Airbus aircraft and is
the largest operator of the Airbus A320 in China).  China Southern Airlines also
successfully completed the International IOSA safety accreditation under IATA’s new
safety audit standard.

In 2005, China Southern Airlines safely moved 44.12 Million passengers and entered
the elite “club” of the world’s Top 10 passenger airlines and is the only Chinese
carrier to meet this mark. Aviation industry insiders believe that China Southern
Airlines will continue to be consistently listed in this exclusive grouping of Top
10 largest airlines.
