InterConti signs Crown Plaza Ankara

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is signing a 30-year franchise deal with Yeni Gimat _syerleri _sletmesi A.S and Laledan to open a new Crowne Plaza hotel in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The 264-room hotel will be located on a prime site next to one of the largest shopping malls in Turkey - also owned by Yeni Gimat - and boasting 300 shops and a large multiplex cinema. 

Due to open at the end of 2007, Crowne Plaza Ankara will comprise two restaurants, four bars, a choice of eight meeting rooms and a stylish ball room with the capacity to host 400 delegates. The hotel will also offer sauna, spa and steam rooms, along with a traditional Turkish hamam.

Richard Hartman, Managing Director Europe, Middle East and Africa for IHG said: “Crowne Plaza Ankara will be our seventh hotel in Turkey, further increasing the presence of IHG in this rapidly developing country and enhancing our brand recognition in the area.”

The hotel has excellent transport links, with a metro station opposite making the old city centre and business district within easy reach.  For guests seeking tranquillity the hotel overlooks a large park which is one of the main recreational areas of Ankara.
