Rocco Forte opens first German property

Rocco Forte’s five star Villa Kennedy is opening in Frankfurt on 1 March 2006 and will be the first of Rocco Forte Hotels’ three German properties under development to open its doors.Villa Kennedy is located on Kennedyallee, just off the south bank of the River Main.  The hotel is built around the existing Villa Speyer (originally constructed in 1904), which will provide the main entrance to some of the grander suites in the hotel.  It is nestled amongst extensive gardens, providing a unique retreat from the bustle of the city yet still within easy reach of the main business and leisure areas.

Villa Kennedy has 163 bedrooms, including 26 suites, designed by London based Martin Brudnizki and his team in a minimalist deluxe style.  All the furniture and lighting have been chosen to make guests feel as comfortable as they would in their own home.

The lobby area of each bedroom will have timber floors and full-length mirrored walls.  All rooms will feature state-of-the-art technology, including flat-screen televisions and dedicated work stations. The suites are
spacious with lounge and dining areas, walk-in wardrobes, dedicated dressing areas and separate guest washrooms. The bathrooms will all have separate shower units, limestone vanity tops, glass panelling and mosaic floors.  The enormous presidential suite (300 square metres) is located on the top floor
of the original Speyer Villa and will have a separate kitchen and turret dining room with two additional interconnecting
rooms available.

Villa Kennedy’s colonnaded Italian restaurant, Gusto, will open out on to the central inner courtyard garden during the warmer months, creating a picturesque and peaceful setting for dining, meetings and general relaxation.  It will have seating for up to 140 people.  A long bar, accommodating up to 80 people, is located next to the restaurant and overlooks the courtyard.

A highlight of the hotel is the spa area, which is split over three levels and comprises a 15-metre indoor pool with raised relaxation area, sauna, Turkish steam room, yoga studio, gym and eight treatment rooms.

Business clients will benefit from seven meeting rooms, five of which inter-connect, for groups of 6 to 40 people. There is also a 330-square metre
ballroom with its own entrance and a grand lobby. The ballroom can accommodate up to 450 and can be divided into two rooms.  All rooms have natural daylight and are equipped with the latest technology.  The hotel will have 50 underground parking spaces reserved for hotel guests.

An additional two hotels will open over the next two years, Hotel de Rome in Berlin (opening September 2006) and a yet to be named Munich property (opening Spring 2007), making Rocco Forte Hotels the country’s market leader with regard to luxury hotels.
