BET to back Jamaica Jazz

Black Entertainment Television has joined forces with the Jamaica Tourist Board to promote the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival to be held in Montego Bay, January 26-28, 2006.

Announcing the partnership, Cybelle Brown, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with BET Digital Networks, said it is really no surprise that her network is involved in this year’s festival since they have produced the event for Air Jamaica for several years.

“We are pleased to offer a promotional venue once again for an award-winning tourist board,” said Brown, who congratulated Jamaica for capturing the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist and Convention Bureau designation at the 2005 World Travel Awards in London this month.

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) at its 2005 World Congress also recently honoured the Jamaica Tourist Board with a special award in recognition of over forty years’ support for ASTA.

Brown announced that BET will produce a half hour preview show - to premier on BET and the BET Jazz Channel in December - promoting the destination, the festival and the festival location. In addition, a festival commercial will air repeatedly on BET Jazz and VH1 Soul.
