easyJet in joint ski venture

Skiers can now package their own tailor-made trips to the slopes through a new website launched today in a joint venture by easyJet and Igluski.com
The new site, www.easyJet4ski.com, offers access to 54,000 beds in more than 250 resorts within reach of the carrier’s budget flights to France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

Accommodation is available from two to seven nights in a choice of self-catering apartments, chalets, hotels and catered chalets in a wide selection of both mainstream and little known resorts.

The site also details transfer times from the nearest airport and offers access to travel insurance, car hire, parking, airport lounges, resort information (including live webcams) and a weekly special offers page.

This one stop ski shop is designed to simplify the process and help passengers get the holiday they really want by giving easier access to the great deals available on the web, while ensuring the maximum time on the slopes for the best price.

easyJet’s Commercial Director Saad Hammad commented: “This new online partnership between easyJet and Iglu is exciting news for the independent skier. For years easyJet has been developing the flexible DIY ski holiday market, providing a greater choice of flights at our fantastically low fares.

“However, many of the hotels have stuck to the traditional and restrictive Saturday to Saturday/seven night stay. But now the accommodation providers recognise the potential of flexible stay and mid-week travel and the new and improved easyJet4ski website will facilitate this change and help lead this trend.”

Igluski.com Chief Executive Richard Downs said: “This is a major breakthrough for the independent skier. It will save them time and money and, we believe, lead to a massive increase in the number of people packaging their own ski holiday.
