Boult sees exciting times at StarCite
StarCite have announced a management transition today, designed to fuel the company’s growth in the fast-growing online meetings marketplace in the U.S. and overseas. The company named President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Boult as Chief Executive Officer and announced that StarCite’s founder, executive chairman and previous CEO, John Pino, will spearhead StarCite’s international expansion and lead its business development efforts. “This is an incredibly exciting time for StarCite,” said Mr. Boult. “As the pioneer and leader in the $300 billion meetings management marketplace - one of the last true frontiers of unmanaged corporate spending - StarCite stands on the cusp of an unparalleled growth opportunity. More and more companies, all over the world, are beginning to recognize the value of meetings management. StarCite’s purpose is to give these companies the technology and tools they need to realize the savings, control and visibility that strategic meetings management makes possible.”
“Partnering with John, a visionary leader and entrepreneur who was the first person to fully recognize the untapped potential of meetings management solutions, we are ready to bring StarCite to a new level of global growth and success,” Boult continued.
These changes will enable StarCite to continue to build upon its successful business strategy by maintaining its focus on customer service and enhancing its three key assets: StarCite’s integrated GMS technology platform, the StarCite Marketplace and the company’s Adoption Management services. StarCite will also continue to build supplier relationships and expand the StarCite Marketplace, which is on pace to deliver over $2 billion in revenue opportunities to suppliers by the end of 2005.
In the new management structure, Mr. Pino will play a critical role in StarCite’s global expansion and business and product development. Mr. Pino will lead teams responsible for global partnerships and service extensions, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions. StarCite is currently expanding its operations in a number of European and Pacific Rim markets in line with its customers’ growth and expansion in these areas.
“After building StarCite from day one, I know that these are the right changes to take to ensure the company’s growth and propel us toward our vision of becoming a truly global, truly integrated and truly value-delivering organization,” said Mr. Pino. “Mike and I view global partnerships as a key component of this strategy, and we will work closely together to create a worldwide network that will support StarCite’s continued growth and expansion, both at home and abroad.”
“I cannot think of a better leader to take the reins at StarCite than Mike Boult,” added Pino. “From his success in building an entirely new kind of procurement-focused travel business at eCLIPSE Advisors to his time here at StarCite, he is a seasoned executive who is ready to help this company capitalize on the many great opportunities that lie ahead.”
