BA appoints new ad agency

British Airways
has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) as its worldwide creative advertising agency. The decision follows a review by the airline of its global advertising contract and a competitive pitch between M&C Saatchi, JWT, DDB Worldwide and BBH. The contract will take effect from November 15, 2005 when incumbent agency M&C Saatchi’s contract will end.
Martin George, the airline’s commercial director, said: “BBH will become British Airways’ worldwide advertising agency.Ê It was chosen for the outstanding insight, creative ability and proven track record of delivering effective advertising it demonstrated throughout the pitch process.

“BBH joins us at an exciting time as we embark upon a period of major product and service investment.Ê Its reputation for creativity and strategic thinking will greatly help British Airways maintain our position as a leader in innovative global marketing and advertising.

“We have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with M&C Saatchi which has produced many memorable campaigns for us over the years.

“However, we must look to the future now and adapt to the changing environment in which we operate and the needs of our business.”
