New GM at One of Anguilla’s Finest Resorts
The CuisinArt Resort & Spa, Anguilla,
will open its season on October 31, 2005 with a new leader and dedicated team
player. Mr. Stephane Zaharia brings extensive hands-on experience to his
position as the resort’s General Manager, and a firm belief that success lies
in teamwork.Zaharia began his career in the hospitality business with the Hyatt
Corporation, quickly working his way up the management ladder at the company’s
U.S. properties. Learning the business from the ground up has given
CuisinArt’s new general manager valuable experience with operations,
purchasing and inventory, and a solid knowledge of the overall workings of a
major hotel.
In 2001, Hyatt moved Zaharia to their resort and casino property in Aruba,
West Indies. As Director of Rooms, he oversaw and developed strong
relationships among multiple divisions within the hotel. In 2003, Mr. Zaharia
moved to Ian Shrager Hotels as Hotel Manager of the Sanderson in London. There
he developed and monitored all hotel operations, and mentored department heads
to help him train staff and roll out the service-oriented philosophy he plans
to bring to CuisinArt.
Zaharia came to the Caribbean in 2004, serving as Resort Manager at the
Carlisle Bay in Antigua, and successfully leading its challenging post-opening
period before accepting the position at CuisinArt.
Mr. Zaharia’s forte is resort operations and, as General Manager of
CuisinArt Resort & Spa, he plans to use his experience and strong leadership
skills to create an environment where quality delivery and individual guest
contact continue to excel.
