bmibaby Appoints New Commercial Director

bmibaby has appointed Steve Burns as commercial director. The role was previously held by David Bryon, now the airline’s managing director.

Steve, 30, came into post on Friday (1 July 2005) and brings to bmibaby a wealth of experience in the low cost sector, having previously held various commercial roles with EasyJet.

As commercial director within bmibaby he will manage sales and distribution, network planning and development, e-commerce, revenue management and customer service functions.

Steve Burns commented: “bmibaby is an extremely fast growing airline and has firmly established itself in the European low cost sector. I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic brand, which has already helped the airline stand out in what is becoming a crowded marketplace. bmibaby has very ambitious plans for the future and the opportunity to be able to help influence the coming years of bmibaby’s growth was one I couldn’t resist. I’m delighted to join the company at such an exciting time.”

David Bryon, bmibaby’s managing director, commented on Steve’s appointment: “We were delighted when Steve accepted the role with bmibaby, his drive and enthusiasm and his wealth of experience in the low cost sector made him the ideal candidate for the job.”
