Bahamas to Feel the Spirt as Airline Launches New Lift

Spirit Airlines has launched its newest Airbus A319 aircraft out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport to Tampa International Airport. In a private ceremony last week, the airplane was named “Spirit of the Bahamas.” “We are delighted to introduce our fourth A319 aircraft, ‘Spirit of the Bahamas.’ The arrival of this aircraft celebrates our expanding service to Nassau and San Salvador in The Bahamas,” said Barry Biffle, Chief Marketing Officer of Spirit Airlines.

Spirit currently serves Nassau twice a day non-stop from Fort Lauderdale and serves San Salvador with non-stop Saturday service. Spirit also offers connecting service to the Bahamas from Detroit, New York/LaGuardia, Chicago/O’Hare, Washington, D.C. /Reagan National, Atlantic City, and Providence/serving the Boston area.

“This aircraft and our new non-stop flights this fall between Orlando and Nassau, exemplify our ongoing commitment towards being the leading low-cost carrier to the Bahamas and the Caribbean,” added Biffle. “We invite customers to join us in our celebration of the Bahamas and book a flight today.”
