Opodo today announced that it has appointed Stephan Uhrenbacher as Commercial Director, with responsibility for country operations in Germany, the UK, France, Italy and the Nordic markets, and for overseeing the company’s sales and marketing strategy. Stephan has over 10 years experience in the pan-European online arena, most recently as COO of DocMorris, Europe’s largest online pharmacy (2003 to 2004) and as Director of Product and Programme at Bild T-Online AG, Germany’s largest content website (2001 to 2003).
Prior to this Stephan was involved in the online travel industry, as Head of Northern Europe, Lastminute.com (1999 to 2000) and as founder and Managing Director of Travel Channel GmbH, the third largest travel site in Germany (1998 to 1999).
Stephan also spent 5 years (1994 to 1999) in a series of senior positions at Gruner & Jahr & Co, Hamburg.

Stephan will report directly to Opodo CEO Simon Vincent and will take up the role from 4th April 2005.
