InterContinental Lead the Field at World Travel Awards

For the second consecutive year, InterContinental The Barclay New York was named “North America’s Leading Business Hotel” at the 11th World Travel Awards on December 11, 2004.Ê In addition, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts won the accolade of “World’s Leading Hotel Group.”Ê The event, held in Barbados at the Sherbourne Conference Centre, celebrated achievements in all areas of the travel and tourism industry.Ê

Frank van der Post, Regional Vice President Operations, Eastern United States and The Caribbean, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and General Manager of the InterContinental The Barclay New York, accepted the award for the hotel, commenting “We are pleased to be recognized by the World Travel Awards as the Leading Business Hotel in North America.Ê We pride ourselves on our commitment to satisfying the needs of today’s business traveler and continue to strive to provide top service to our executive clients.”

InterContinental The Barclay New York competed against leading business hotels such as the Hyatt Regency Chicago, the Fairmont Hotels in San Francisco and Boston and The Hilton New York for this prestigious award.
