America West to Kick Off New Nonstop Services

America West Airlines , the
nation’s second largest low-cost airline, will fly its inaugural trip
tomorrow between Sioux Falls, S.D. and Phoenix, its largest hub, from
which it operates more than 300 flights a day to more than 90
destinations. America West is the only airline offering nonstop flights
between Sioux Falls and Phoenix—one of the top destinations of
passengers departing from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, and has
conveniently timed connecting flights for Sioux Falls customers to more
than 30 points, including popular destinations throughout California and
the Southwest. “We’re looking forward to introducing Sioux Falls customers to America
West’s award-winning combination of everyday low fares and full-service
amenities,” said Dion Flannery, vice president, scheduling, route planning
and Internet distribution. “As the only carrier offering nonstop flights
between Sioux Falls and the Valley of the Sun, which is a second home to
many in the Sioux Falls area, we look forward to providing service that
will represent value for customers who travel for both business and
pleasure between the two cities.”

America West Express, operated by Mesa Airlines, will provide the new
service utilizing the 50-passenger Candadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200).
