New Chief Executive for Hilton International

Hilton Group plc today announces the appointment of Ian Carter (43) as Chief
Executive of Hilton International Hotels.He will take up the appointment, previously held by the late Anthony Harris, on 1
February 2005 reporting to David Michels, Chief Executive of Hilton Group plc.  He
will also have a seat on the Group Board.

Currently an officer and President of Black & Decker Corporation, Europe, Middle
East, Africa and Asia, Ian has broad international general management and marketing
experience gained through 11 years with General Electric (working both in Europe and
the USA) and Low & Bonar plc.
Based in the UK, Ian is married with one daughter.

Commenting on the appointment, David Michels said “I am delighted to be announcing
Ian’s appointment.  He will bring a new dimension to the hotels business with
different, but complementary skills which are very focussed on product innovation,
quality and value.  I am confident that his particular strengths and objectivity
will play an important role as the recovery of our sector continues”.

Commenting on his appointment Ian Carter said “I am very excited by the opportunity

industry has faced some real challenges in the past few years but I hope to be able
to bring a fresh look to the business whilst at the same time continuing to build
